6.5 Turbo Diesel Performance

Maximize the power from your GM Diesel with the chip or computer from BD. This new program will produce a 30-40 horsepower increase and 60-90 Ibs foot of torque. We have modified the transmission shifting to take advantage of this performance increase.

On 96-98 models, we program a computer with performance curves and replace the complete computer. 1994 & 1995 trucks, we simply replace the EPROM located on the computer mounted behind the glove box. 1992 & 1993 model year engines are mechanically rather than electronically-controlled. Enhance engine horsepower by installing a BD turbo waste gate control, a larger exhaust system, and a higher flow air intake system to increase air flow and reduce exhaust temperatures.

BD AutoLoc Converter Control Kit

Designed for trucks with automatic transmissions with exhaust brakes. This kit is programmed to hold your torque converter locked up so 100% of your retarding horsepower can be transferred along with lowering the transmission oil temperature. Normally when the transmission is shifted down the higher engine RPM will cause a better fluid coupling that transfers 10 - 80% of the retarding power with high transmission oil temperatures. We monitor your vehicles speed, exhaust brake and transmission mode. The box simply installs under the dash in 45 minutes.

BD Exhaust Systems

Diesel engines need plenty of air to produce power and proper emissions. When you are pulling up a hill or accelerating, a high flow exhaust is critical to good engine performance. During the original engine installation the turbo downpipe is attached and results in a crushed pipe. On the original exhaust there is flow restrictions at the turbo outlet pipe and in the muffler. The rest of the pipe is usually only a 2.75" diameter. Our 3" / 4" full mandrel bent aluminized pipe corrects the problem, giving the engine what it needs. Improves turbo response and high air flow ability.

Exhaust Brakes

The BD Turbo Mount Exhaust Brake for Cummins/Ram engines is the only turbo mounted exhaust brake with full pressure regulation and designed to strictly meet, not exceed your engine's specifications. A BD Brake is built to last. Compare the extensive use of stainless steel, the exclusive alumibronze bushing that the butterfly shaft rotates in, the 100 psi of apply and release pressure that is achieved with the progressive, spring loaded piston in the 3" vacuum cylinder, and the largest exhaust bore capacity in the turbo mount industry that exceeds engine exhaust flow requirements.

Torque Converters

Stock converters are designed to have a fluid coupling that transfers 80% of each engine revolution at 2,100 plus engine RPM. This results in loss of engine power and causes high transmission temperature. With the BD converter designed to transfer 90% of each revolution at 1800 RPM, more torque is accessed resulting in better holding power lined lock-up clutch resists slippage and burning. High pressure shift kits are required for high torque applications.

BD Clutches

This clutch has 3100 lbs. of holding force! 1000 lbs. more than the stock clutch. It only takes 14 lbs. more to apply the clutch with your foot! we use a carbon / ceramic material that holds on to your engine so you can transfer 650+ lbs. of torque. Keep your old clutch, the design is so different we have no use for it!

BD Fuel Stop Plate

Power gains of 50 - 150 HP and 100 - 300 lbs. Of torque is attained through the installation of the BD fuel Stop Plate in combination with the metered Turbo orifice (included in kit). These high power gains should be matched with gauges to monitor the engines operation.

Exhaust Kits

Get a 15 HP increase at 2600 RPM with an Exhaust Pipe kit from BD. designed to allow the turbo to respond quickly at the bottom end. It allows higher flow once the engine is at higher RPM when high exhaust temperatures are present under load. Installation of an exhaust kit should be matched with higher flow air filter for maximum improvement.

Turbine Housing

Flowed turbine housings for low and high RPM boost control to match your engine for maximum air flow. Wasted gas and non wastegated housings available to match high horsepower engines.

Performance Chip

Improves engine efficiency and turbo boost presures resulting in a better fuel-to-air ratio, increasing launching and pulling power, and reducing exhaust temperatures. The quickest and least expensive way to increase HP and torque. 30% more Horsepower and installs in 45 min.

Intercooler

Turbo chargers are basically air pumps that create pressure in the intake manifold. When air is compressed it heats up and expands which results in less oxygen to assist the fuel to burn in the combustion chamber. This intercooler acts like a radiator to cool down the intake temperatures that can reach 40D degrees F. This cooled intake air is then more dense and results in more oxygen being deliverd to the combustion chamber and lowers boots pressures.
